Chapter 3 - The Perfect Word of God

The Bible is perfect. The Word of God is the Rock on which I stand. I know it contains the answers which I seek. There is even now objective proof that the author of the Bible is God, which we are now discovering with the aid of computer science. I recommend the YouTube channel "Truth is Christ", and the website 'sealedbytheking.com', both of which are the incredible work of Brandon Peterson. He proves mathematically that the Bible is the perfect Word of God. In homage to his findings, which are all based on the King James Bible, I will quote Scriptures exclusively in this translation, but I am not opposed to reading other translations of the Bible.

As I set out to write a book defending women priests, I found myself wrestling with God. I determined the Bible to be my sole evidence and witness - and therein lies the dilemma. As I pored through the New Testament, it seemed that Jesus would relate to me endless arguments in favor of female priests, but with just a couple Scripture verses offered by Paul my entire case would be destroyed. How could I ever reconcile the two ?

For example, Paul says that "every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head." 1 Corinthians 11 : 5 Ok, so that explains the veils that women used to wear to the Holy Mass. But what about the woman who dried her tears that fell on Jesus' feet with her own hair ? Jesus rebuked the outraged pharisee, not her.

What Paul says confuses me, but what God does speaks to my heart ! "A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation. God setteth the solitary in families ; he bringeth out those which are bound with chains ; but the rebellious dwell in a dry land. Kings of armies did flee apace: and she that tarried at home divided the spoil. Though ye have lien among the pots, yet shall ye be as the wings of a dove covered with silver, and her feathers with yellow gold." Psalm 68 : 5-6, 11-14

It seems obvious that God delights in working with and through women. How else does one explain the astounding things that God does through mighty women in Christ, like Kathryn Kuhlman, or Heidi Baker ? These are women filled to overflowing with the Holy Spirit ; preaching, teaching, performing miracles.

I can't understand Paul's words in regards to these women. What would Paul say about a spirit filled woman who raised someone from the dead ? Should she have remained quiet, and asked her husband first ? Whenever I see miracles performed by ordinary people, I see the living proof that we are indeed a New Testament, not just written about Jesus, but lived out by Jesus in the lives of His believers. The Old Testament describes a people longing for a Promised Land made of dirt, with borders, where this nation would strive to obey God's commandments written on stone tablets, and offering animal sacrifice by men who had to possess a biological right as a son of Levi or Aaron in order to do so.

How different the New Testament is ! The Ark of the Covenant is no longer a man-made coffer containing stone tablets, but a virgin mother, conceiving the son of God by the Holy Spirit ! That same God writes the commandment of Love on our hearts of flesh, and we are born into a new life as believers, upon which we are filled with the Holy Spirit Himself ! And, we can receive the Body and Blood of Jesus in communion, and call upon His Father as our Father ! Hallelujah !! How much better the spirit filled way of the New Testament is, compared to the earthbound ways of the Old Testament.
