Chapter 9 - Satan Fears the Eucharist

As Paul says in his letter to the Corinthians, we are ALL supposed to eat the Eucharistic meal at home. "What? have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? or despise ye the church of God, and shame them that have not? What shall I say to you? shall I praise you in this? I praise you not." 1 Corinthians 11 : 22

But there is a caveat. We have the freedom and privilege of receiving Communion by our own hands - BUT ! It is our faith that feeds us, NOT a priest. Is the feeding of the multitudes with only five loaves and two fish a reality today ? Is every single Christian eating this bread, with enough left over to bring in the lost ? Or ... how many of children of God are doubting that Jesus is truly present in the Eucharist ?

"And they sinned yet more against him by provoking the most High in the wilderness. And they tempted God in their heart by asking meat for their lust. Yea, they spake against God. They said, Can God furnish a table in the wilderness? Behold, he smote the rock, that the waters gushed out, and the streams overflowed ; can he give bread also? can he provide flesh for his people? Therefore the Lord heard this, and was wroth." Psalm 78 : 17-21

In fact, how many Catholics who receive the Eucharist understand thi

s ? Or worse yet ... how many priests don't actually believe this ? The Bible cautions us so strongly against abandoning the Eucharist.

"Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body. For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world." 1 Corinthians 11 : 27-32

I will tell you who fears the Eucharist ; he will prove that it is real. I call to the stand the devil. He has worked hard to make sure the Church has denied access to the Eucharist.

First, the myth of the New Testament priest was created. Secondly, obstacle upon obstacle was invented to make access to that fake priesthood as burdensome as possible, at least in what concerns the Roman Catholic priests. Here is what that Bread from Heaven, given freely on the Cross for us, must endure before it may be given in the church of modern times :

First create a Priest, who will consecrate and administer the Eucharist. The candidate must :

- be Roman Catholic with the endorsement of the Church

- be a male, unmarried and remain celibate

- attend seminary for at least seven years and upwards of $100,000 for academic and living costs to successfully obtain a Bachelor's degree in a qualified field with at least 2 years of Theology, and attend a 5 year program to obtain a Master of Divinity degree

Paul warned us of this, describing those "having a form of godliness, ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth... but denying the power thereof ; from such turn away." 2 Timothy 3 : 5, 7

Then, for that priest to give Communion, a believer is required, who must :

- be a member of a Catholic church, confirmed

through Baptism and Confirmation or through the required adult rite of initiation

- be in a state of grace without mortal sin, having gone to Confession to be absolved by a priest and cleansed of all venial sin

- find a Roman Catholic church and attend the Mass

And all those requirements, for what ? Did you know, the moment in which the priest can say the bread has become the Body of Christ, are three simple sentences, most importantly stating, "this is My Body which is given up for you." A few simple verses is all it takes ? Seven years of school and over $100,000 of donations to pay for one priest, so he can learn to recite one verse from the Bible ?

Did Jesus recruit four fisherman or did He not ?

At least the Catholic creed endorses the belief in the Eucharist. The Evangelical Church will you the Eucharist is only a symbol.

"Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye. Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One ; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers, who have received the law by the disposition of angels, and have not kept it." Acts 7 : 51-53

Jesus Himself gave us His instructions for the gifts we receive from Him : "Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me, for of such is the kingdom of heaven. And he laid his hands on them." Mathew 19 : 14-15

Jesus rebuked His own Apostles for hindering them ! Would Jesus rebuke the Church today ?

In truth, for any minister of God's word, of any denomination, to either hide behind a self-proclaimed doctrine of infallibility and say, male-only priesthood is an irrevocable doctrine, or on the other hand to outright reject the reality of the Eucharist at all, is a suppression of the God-given right to the Eucharist.

The truth of God's word is its majestic simplicity ; its miraculous nature is the power of Divinity hidden within such ordinary things, in order to make it accessible to all God's children. But no, it has sparked an irreconcilable argument, because both sides are missing the point !

"Yea, they despised the pleasant land, they believed not his word, but murmured in their tents, and hearkened not unto the voice of the Lord." Psalm 106 : 24-25 The devil has deceived us all, pitting us against each other, and succeeded in stealing our birthright from us. The Eucharist is one of God's greatest blessings bestowed upon mankind ! It is God Himself ! "My Father gives you the true bread from Heaven." John 6 : 32

If we only understood how much we need the Eucharist !

And I have a miracle to prove it. I am happy to share with you, dear reader of these pages, that the sun-like object made of gold that I saw in the Basilica in Lyon ... was the Eucharist. That first encounter with Jesus hidden in the consecrated host, produced a miraculous healing that I experienced later that night. That pain I felt in my back that vanished but returned, that is the pain of the Body of Christ, crying out for the saving power of the Eucharist.

"For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always." Mathew 26 : 11

It isn't the financially poor whom Jesus is referring to, or any "other" person living "out there" in the streets. I, YOU, WE are that poor person. Yes, we also need the assembly of believers, the laying on of hands, the guidance of deacons, the wisdom of elders, the chorus of voices singing worship together, inspiring homilies and insightful Bible studies, but ... we never needed a building to do that. We just needed the body of Christ to come together. But as important as the body of Christ ; the believers, is the Body of Christ, the Eucharist, and we need both.

Psalm 111 is the inspirational text for Jesus in the Upper Room, where our Lord gave of His own Body to be eat as meat as an everlasting covenant, so as to strengthen our weary bodies and souls on the way home to the Promised Land. "He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered ; the Lord is gracious and full of compassion. He hath given meat unto them that fear him. He will ever be mindful of his covenant." Psalm 111 : 4-5

What we needed, was the Eucharist. We need deep, physical communion with Jesus, who is not here as fully as we would want or need. We groan in the depths of our souls along with the Holy Spirit for His 2nd coming, so that we can be with Him. Until then, we have the Eucharist.

I call to the stand another witness, a faithful witness, who will prove the Eucharist... Moses.

We read in the Old Testament, how God "humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know ; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live." Deuteronomy 8 : 3

Holy Spirit explained to me - that verse was actually a prophesy of the Eucharist ! Yes ! And it was fulfilled in Jesus, who said, "And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body." Mathew 26 : 26 The verse in Deuteronomy prophesies the consecration prayer of the Eucharist.

Jesus gave us His own words so that we too could consecrate bread to become His Body. In fact, the verse in Deuteronomy is saying, "you must live on both bread AND the word of God," and in this consecration prayer, the words of God unite with bread to become ... the Word of God !! Deuteronomy is a consecration prayer of the Eucharist !

"But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God. For it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day. And it shall be, if thou do at all forget the Lord thy God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you this day that ye shall surely perish." Deuteronomy 8 : 18-19

And Jesus says that very thing ! "Do this, in memory of Me". That is the power of the Eucharist. It is deliverance from our Egypt, and an invitation to our Promised Land.
